What do you guys recommend as far as a tank guard, or tank bra?

I have to sit almost on the tank to reach the ground and my coat is scuffing the tank.

Any preferences as to tank guards??

    Tks

There are several adhesive rubberish buffer strips that look kinda like zippers that run up the ridge of the tank. most cost around 20 dollars. Some have designs. There is even a VFR version on EBay. It only covers the center line though.

For the sides, I'm a big fan of StompGrip - gives your legs something to grip and protect the tank. For the back of the tank, I have one of the generic tank-pads you can get at most MC shops or on eBay. If you're looking for something a bit more stealth than that, tankslapper is great stuff.

All the above options are great - I have the slip over the tank kind by Lockhart Philips. It has a bungee that goes around the front of the tank, and the back end tucks under the seat. On/off in a few seconds. Check my gallery for a pic. Its nice peace of mind.

    Hey Mello,

I like the looks of that! What kind of seat is that? I just ordered a Sargeant's, and they are going to scrape a little extra foam or gel off so I can reach the ground, with BOTH feet! What a luxury!

Where did you get your tank cover?

    Tks!

    Theresa,
The seat is a Corbin. The seat is lower than stock. I'm hooked on them. Just the standard dealer order item. The tank cover came with the bike - I bought it about 3 years ago. But the supplier is Lockhart Phillips - should be able to buy one from them. I think they are $49. I'll dig for a link. Sometimes they pop up on eBay too.
