I know I need a steering damper- mainly because of pot holes and rough roads. What dampers that are good for a 06- Black with little stars in paint vfr 800?:vader::banana::heh::smileyfb:

I read through all their info and testimonials, and they look good. I guess it is one of those improvements that if you can afford the nearly $500, then go for it.

I've never seen a VFR that needs a steering damper, are your steering head bearings OK?

I haven't really had a need for one either, rather put $500 into suspension.

Some of the road I ride around here have cracks and heaves that run parallel to lane that get a little funky.

A bike shaking its head every now and then on bad roads is normal behaviour, it's just the bike suspension/steering adjusting to road surfaces and self correcting.
What makes it bad is fighting it or holding on too tight.
The steering geometry of a VFR is very sedate and not prone to death wobbles unless something is not right.
Even GP bikes will head shake over bumps, you just don't see their riders fighting it.
Like Allyance said, much better value spending it on the crappy standard suspension.
