    Hello all!

I just changed my chain/sprockets and decided to get a Scottoiler eSystem while I was at it. (Afterwards I looked at my bank balance and cried, but that's another story...)

So, for those of you that have an eSystem: what do you have yours set to? I'm running 120 sec/drop. I'm thinking of going to 90, but I'm going to leave it like this for a little while longer. The chain still looks moist with oil after each ride and there is little oil dribble on the swingarm. I suspect that because I ride almost exclusively highway, a higher flow may be in order. At the current rate, I think that I'll be able to make one reservoir last 8000 miles!

Also, what oil are you running. I'm on the Scottoil Blue that came with my unit right now, but I'm thinking of going to ATF as I have many bottles of the stuff and no automatic transmission vehicles. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Its all down to how often you ride your bike & the length of trips you do. If your 'normal' daily ride is 10 minutes each way then thats only 5 drops !

The VFR is my primary daily driver, and I have a long commute. I spend about 2.5 hours a day, four days a week riding it. So far I've logged over 17K miles this year (just on the VFR, not counting my NightHawk.)
    So, probably around 75 drops/day. ;-)

I'd leave it at that - & maybe even look at longer !

when I had my scotoiler I ended up just using the scotoiler oil as I found the back of the bike ended up in more of a mess using other stuff.

Thanks! I appreciate the info. I'll leave it like this and keep monitoring.

Did you find that the eSystem is particularly sensitive to oil viscocity? The blue should be fine for winter, but summers in Alabama may be another story!

The temps in the UK never get high enough to worry about it lol - I switched from the scotoiler after 7 years as I found WAX, the Honda white wax to be as good & it meant I 'had' to pay attention to my bike more. I also find the wax easier to remove
