    Ok, I need some advice.

I have a 1999 VFR that I commute around 200 miles a day with. The ride is almost all highway. It if not killer uncomfortable, but the creepy numb leg feeling is beginning to bother me. I am curious if I would be better to replace the stock seat with a Sargent or add a set of Heli Bars. In a perfect world, I would do both, but its not a perfect world. What would you do.

    Thanks

I installed HeliBars last summer, they made a big difference for me in my neck and shoulders. When and if the economy turns around, I will be getting a Sargent seat. Being as the issue is with your leg, I would go with the seat first.

Since your numb leg is attached to your butt and the butt is resting on the seat, you have to come to the logical conclusion that getting the sargent seat is the best option.

The numb leg syndrome was what made me buy the Sargent seat. My left leg used to go numb in as little as 50 miles. I've had no such issues since I got the Sargent, so if it's your leg that's bothering you get the Sargent.

I have a set of Helibars on order and will put them on when they get here.

By the way, is it heel-i-bars or hell-i-bars?

According to Sargent's website, the 6th gen seat is a one piece seat and the cowl does fit over it. The 5th gen is a 2 piece seat and the pillion has to be removed to put the cowl on...does provide a little bit of storage under the cowl that way.
