    Hey everybody....some boys from VFRworld and I joined up for a gathering to watch the Red Bull Air Race in San Diego. I really don't know squat about planes, other than they go up and down, but this race was really cool to watch. It took place in San Diego Bay, on a kinda overcast, and partly cloudy day. The pilots are just amazing how they swoop in between the cones on the course. It is a timed race thru cones set up in the bay. Pilots have to go inbetween the cones low enough without hitting them makes the turns, and turn the best time to win. Only one pilot barely knicked a cone the entire race that had to be replaired/replaced. I am taking pictures with a POS camera, so forgive me for the quality. I am hoping that one of the guys (XXfirefighter, you listening buddy) puts up some of his pics with his BIG :ass: lens. :lol:

    Well, West (Viff) and I met up for some grub at Phil's BBQ in SD....not Southern level BBQ, but damn good for SD. Dan (sloav8tr) and Rich (XXfirefighter) caged it down from Central Cal after a few other stops.

    4 cones in the middle that they have to go thru two different directions....it was awecome to watch this, and they have to turn sideways fast to make this...there are cones set up around the bay that they have to go inbetween and pull some high G's trying to make the turn for the next set of cones.

    Well, who the hell were the two pilots in the final and who the hell won the damn race? - what kind of race report is this anyway? Just kidding Stuke! Thanks for the photos, didn't get to go this year.....glad to see you hangin' out with the boyz........

    Sorry Long, but this was kinda tricky to plan as Dan and Rich had other stops and were coming down later than expected. I didn't know enough exact times. It was just gonna be me, but Viff was going alone anyways, so he asked me, and I told him I was going to "try" and meet the guys if they made it.

    Why can't they do that in NJ? Oh, I know why. NJ would probably charge them some kind of retarded tax or fee & make them get permits. I want to see the races so bad. Aviation is awesome. Think they would let us rip thru them cones in a KC-10?

    Hey guys, I am glad to hear from people that have been to the show.
    My girl and I are going at the end of may in Detroit and I am excited
    to go, and airplanes are my second love but the VFR will remain #1
