I just put some Givi hard bags on a 96, fourth gen. Had to buy the bolts to fasten the racks to the rear subframe. While getting them, I also picked up some rubber washers.
Thought it would isolate them from vibration and absorb some of the inertial forces while riding.
Would a hard, bolted mount deal with the forces better?
Kind of an engineering question, or if anyone has had the same idea.
They are on now, will take them for a test ride soon. (Tomorrow???!!!!!!) At a standstill, they have a little flex to them. If I push down hard, they will move an inch. (the bag, not the bolt)
    Thanks for sharing!

    bag mounts

My mounts are hard bolted to the frame, and it seems ok.

    One vote for hard bolted.
