Read up on some of his amazing quotes.....he was a genuine American folk philosopher of risk, danger, and living life to its fullest.

when I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be Evel. I used to have the toy that I jumped across flames, etc. Unfortunately he didn't make the jump across the creek so I had to wait for the team america superstunt dirtbike. Unfortunately it perished in an unfortunate accident with the flaming pit of death. Ahh, memories. Evel will be missed.

Reg, I'm with you on that. When I was 12 we used to make some pretty hellacioius ramps and see how far we could jump our bicycles. I think I still have some of those scars.

He had some serious stones, for sure. Making those jumps on a freakin Harley sportster and not some set-up dirt bike puts him in a class all his own.

One of Evil's jump bikes is on display at Wheels Through TIme Museum. I can't imagine how ANYONE could ride that thing, much less jump it.

No doubt. You can only imagine how much greater his stunts would have been if he was jumping on a CR500 like his son. Doing what he did using (what amounts to) a street bike was insane.

He was and always will be the greatest. I used to love watching him jump on TV when they would televise it. I saw the headline last night while at work. He'll be missed bymany I am sure, as well as his wit and personality will be missed.

I once saw an interview where he admitted before many jumps feeling scared shitless and just not wanting to do the jump. He said forcing himself to go through with some of these jumps so as not to disappoint was extremely difficult. That to me is the epitome of courage.
None of his broken records should count, as they were done on bikes designed for it. Not that it doesnt take guts to do those, it's just not the same thing.

Evel was truly one of a kind. We should feel blessed too have witnessed what he did. Hell, look at the impact he had on pop culture. We jumped our BMX bikes and half killed ourselves trying to emulate him LOL!

He was a true American outlaw that only this country could produce.

    Rest in peace Evel.
