Rusty front brake rotor hardware

Hi guys,

I have almost 1000 kms on my 2015, been riding in pretty crappy weather here lately and have been washing the bike down frequently when its been needed. What I have found is the floating hardware that holds the front rotors has been rusting and making a mess of the front end and wheel. Anyone else had this experience? I have not had this happen with my RC-51 over the last 6 years either. Will be mentioning this to the dealership when it goes for it's first service...

Just checked my bobbins, and no signs of rust, but I gave them the treatment. Tighten the bolt & nut, squirt brake cleaner in crack between disk and retainer as you turn bolt, when you are done, wiggle socket wrench, you should see disk move easily.

 

In this case for here, a photo would be worth a thousand words.

Last summer I replaced my front brake pads with EBC HH pads which work great but make a whirring noise when engaged. Last week I had new PR 4 tire put on and I remounted front wheel. Finally got out yesterday to scrub up the tire and a short ride. I noticed that the whirring noise didn't stop when I released the brake like it normally does. This morning I loosened axle bolts and noticed axle was about 1/32" past normal on the left. Tapped it in and tightened up, then did the bobbin routine. Now all is well.
