I have an 83 vf 750 that is driving me crazy, I have went through all the carbs and I'm quite sure they are in good shape. I did tank the carbs and took alot of time going through them and putting them back togeather. This bike starts good when cold but does not always high idle and after just a few minites if you try to ride it there is very little power. Now heres the confuzing part once the temp gauge gets up to the first mark and its at what seems to be normal operating temp this bike comes alive and will rum perfect. At this point it idles great and runs great and very strong. I have taken it on a fairly long ride and all was good. Its got new plugs and I have done all the normal checks with fuel filter and etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Craig

Sounds like a choke problem. Did you remove the individual choke pistons when you tanked them? Get all the linkage back on correctly? I know on mine the choke cable clamp position is tight. If it's not set right the chokes don't either close or open all the way like they should.

No power cold is most likely to lean. Your chokes may not be closing all the way. If it runs/idles as good as you say after it's up to temp, then I would think you did a good job setting the carbs up. Check the choke movement on all choke pistons.
