I`m having a hell of a time trying to find out what is going on with my 06 VFR800. After a day of riding in hot weather...I noticed that it just temp had gotten up to 233 and then coolant started to leak. I pulled of the fairings, and the radiator and noticed that the leak look like it was coming from the radiator. I took the radiator off, but didn`t see a crack in the radiator. I don`t know what else to do...
It might look like it is coming from the radiator... but it really is hard to tell sometimes. The only way to test the rad is like i_needit suggested and pressure test it. Rads are usually the last part of the system to spring a leak. You might try adding some of the UV dye in the antifreeze if you really can't spot it. Then you can use a blacklight to find the leak.
could be that the cap isnt on correctly or isnt sealing correctly. Had a similar prob on my 92 and I discovered that the 1/4 turn "on" feeling for the cap is actually not the 1/2 turn "really on"
