I finally got the shock Jamie built for me installed, but routing the shock reservoir didn't go as easily as I'd hoped. I tried to run on the right side first, since that seemed the natural way with the angle of the fitting on the shock body (angled at 45 degrees back if installed that way), but then the fitting hit the battery box. So I swapped it around, and the fitting was against the frame. It might have had clearance once things were assembled, since the shock appears to be closest to the frame when it's been removed from the linkage. But I didn't like the idea of a pressurized hose that close to the frame, given that it does move a (tiny) bit. So I turned it back around, and then notched out the corner of the battery box. Since I'm running a lithium iron battery, I don't need the whole volume of the box, and can just shim it with foam inserts to keep everything spaced from the hose.

    So here's the remote:

The zipties are just to validate placement (I'm not riding it yet).

If I should swap it to the left, I can do so, just not looking forward to the full disassembly required. They forgot step one in the fsm: "remove everything"

I wound up strapping my Twin Clicker against the left side of the aluminum box frame for easy access. Someone told a horror story a ways back about the same type of you type of setup you have when they hit a big bump and the tire tore the reservoir off.

Can you take a pic of that?

I'm worried about both tire clearance (for the reason you mentioned), and also that the adjuster seems awfully exposed right there.

Also, since you went left sided, the hose went out via where the preload adjuster on the old shock went?

Yep, left side under the side panel, the shock was never installed on a bike before I got it so it still had the original rubber mounting bumpers to put against the frame.
Still need to trim the plastic ties down.

Did you trim the side panel for that routing?

Nope, there is enough of a gap under the side panel to route the line under it.
