19 yr old Shoya Tomizawa, MotoGP2 racer, died at the San Marino round. He was involved in a horrific crash in which he appears to lose the front end and was subsequently, at least it appeared so, to be hit by his own machine, run over, and then hit by a third bike.

I am especially saddened as Tomizawa was the Moto2 rider for my fantasy racing team and had been doing a fantastic job for such a young rider. Hopefully, he is now with Katoh. My sincerest condolences to his family and his fans. I have decided that I will just leave Tomizawa san as my fantasy racing Moto2 rider for the rest of the season, to honor his passing. If it costs my fantasy team the championship, then so be it.

As for the poilitical comment concerning too many bikes in Moto2, how many bikes do you want, 5? This incident took place at the front and therefore could not have been prevented by reducing the number of machines in the race. Politics at such a time is poor form.

I was unaware that he was so young.
    Very sad.

    Rest in Peace, Young Rider

So sad to see the light on a promising career and on an especially young riders life be extinguished in such a way. I only hope that his family is able to take some measure of solice, during this unexpected tragedy, in the knowlege that he passed while competing in the sport he loved.

    Be at peace
