so we all know how to ride right? well here is a short tutorial on hand gestures. for the purpose of this demonstration the Motorcycle was stationary and up on the stock center stand. I was going to use the Ducati...but the owner of it came out and was not to pleased that I had removed the cover and was siitting on his "new " baby.. the rider will demonstrate each hand signal then a brief summary will follow. this is the "down low wave" most riders of sport bikes use this one. notice the hand position, and finger extention, this is basically saying "hey bro what up" this is another example of the downlow hand wave. this is the "roman salute" only done with the left hand instead of the right. this wave can be used to wave at riders going by that are opscured by a median wall. This one I call the "shooter" only the really cool riders can master this one. it is acknowledging the other biker, but conveys anair of coolness that is above the rider being "shot" most liter bike riders use this one. This is the "reverse shooter" or "backhand shooter" this one is again for the "elite riders" and it it used to covey acknowledgment from another bike that may be at a signal light stoped waiting to go. again a favorite used by liter bike owners. this one is by far the most recognizable hand gesture of them all. this is the sign that a law enforcement official is waiting around the corner to bust your ass ass soon as you get there in the triple digits. or commonly refered to the PO PO hand signal. I am pretty sure there are more out there, but theses are a few of the common ones that you will see when you are out riding this weekend. be sure to wave at other sport bike enthusiasts with the appropriate hand gesture and that you wave at all others with the correct one as well. Be sure that you tell the Harley D guys that they are number one( you choose the finger to demonstrate this) and waving at scooters is Ok until your friends see you... Have fun and keep the rubber side down. Crusty
