Took a run up to Royal Distributing in Guelph to scope out some riding jeans but (a) there's not much on display there and (b) the staff was not particularly helpful so I need some recommendations.

What I was hoping to find were some jeans that incorporated knee and hip armour protection but of the four (count 'em, 4) pair that were on display (Icon and Joe Rocket) just have heavier denim in those areas.

Any other ideas, brands etc. and where I could go to find what I am looking for?

    Thanks!

Do they have to be jeans?
I was originally looking for jeans and did not find any in any store.
There is another thread about riding jeans. Do a search and you will find it.
I'm now undecided about Alter Ego or Caliber pants.
Both can be used as pants or over pants.
But I think the Caliber pants have more knee and hip protection.

Use the search engine above to do a search on here, as there have been several threads done on the subject. I wear Cortech jeans for around town myself. They have seat, and knee leather reinforcement. Removeable knee armor as well. They are ok, better than gap jeans.

I take it you have looked at the Icon Anthem jeans as well? I know that Reggie has those, and has "field" tested them a couple of times with ok results.

Check out Alpinestars "cargo pant". When I first laid eyes on them I wanted them- they look good, and they have armor in the knees. Unfortunatley I was not able to find a pair in my size......
