I might be riding from Nashua NH to Syracuse NY next week on the 2nd. I'd be by myself and in no rush. I've given myself all day to arrive. Anyone know any good roads to hit, sights to see, stops I should make? Also, any info about areas to avoid or bad roads would be great. I've made the drive many times, but that's always the Mass Pike to the NY Thruway. Boring highway slab all the way. I'd like to hit all back roads and some twistys to enjoy myself.

    TIA

What I would do is ride through the Adirondack region from Albany to Syracuse. When you get into NY, travel north of Albany up to Lake George. You can then pick up Route 8 which will take you all the way to Utica. There are a number of ways to slice it, but pull out a map and if you've got the time, that's the way to go. Riding the Thruway is faster, but just an absolutely boring ride.
