Pulled my 85 which I bought new out of the shed this past weekend. I'm going to have the carbs rebuild and see if I can get it going again. The clutch is totally limp so I'm guessing if I get her running I'll try to bleed and see what happens. I drove this bike across country and on many other voyages when I was in my prime and let it sit the last 15 years moving on to a Goldwing. No reason to believe any mechanical problems. I drained the tank and radiator before storing. Will pull brakes and change all fluids before attempting to start. Any advise on how to proceed is appreciated.

In 1985, Honda offered a VF and the next year an improved VFR. Clutch will probably be OK after you drain the old fluid and bleed it.

If your bike sat for 15 years with DOT3 fluid, I am sure the fluid is sad shape. I just finished my 83 after 15 years sitting in my garage. I replaced most of the rubber parts and seals, still available on Partzilla. Only thing that saved my calipers and master cylinders was the DOT 5 fluid I put in in 84, still looked fresh.
