Has anybody tried reversing thier helibars ( left on right n vice versa ) so the bar angle turns in more ( turning the heel of your hands in more ). Just wondering whether the brake/clutch reservoirs will clear the screen and switchs will clear tank. I realise it would probably move grips forward about an inch

Why? It would stretch the rider out and defeat the purpose of helibars...

Yeah sounds strange but I wanted to turn the bars in a little but they're almost touching the tank as it is reversing them would only move forward about an inch allowing me to turn them in.

I would think that no one has tried what you are asking about because Heli-bars are bought for the sole purpose of bringing the bars higher and closer to the rider, reversing them would be counter to their purpose. That being said, maybe look into Convertibars, they are nearly infinitely adjustable and may be what you are looking for. Yes, like Heli-bars, they are expensive but if they work, I'm sure you could recoup some money back by selling your Heli-bars. Good luck finding what you're looking for, riding comfort is a primary necessity IMO.

    Cheers

Thanks OOTV I'll check them out. The helibars came with the bike . I was even considering trying return original bars from eBay

What are you trying to accomplish? Is it comfort? Maybe raising the the bars on the fork tubes and adjusting them rewards will help....confused on why to switching them...good luck with what your working towards.
Love mine, huge difference for me.

6 Gen clip ones won't work with the 5 Gen, 43mm vs. 41mm fork tubes.

I find after about 20 mins my right thumb is sore . I'm not leaning my weight on the bars or strangling them . I figured if I could turn the bars in a little bit more it might be easier on the thumb. I've looked at ootv's suggestion and they look like the way to go . I was trying to get a result without spending $

You'll make most of the money back selling the helibars. They still go for a decent amount. I think I tried to install them backwards when I was first starting my install, I ran into an issue which made me look harder for the locating stamps. I can't remember if it was the cables, the grips, or just the locating holes that are drilled in the bars that stop the thumb controls from spinning.

One caveat Oldmate, depending how high and back you take the bars, you may have to extend the throttle cable. My recollection is that the throttle cables off the Honda ST-1100/ST-1300 will do the trick.

    Cheers
