reversed jumper cables= dead vfr

Just got my hands on an 86 700F w/10k mi on it, got it all put back together after a fairly extensive but smooth rebuild, and fried something by reversing the polarity on the jumper cables. Sh*t.

Now nothing comes on when I turn the key to the "on" position. No idiot lights, no headlight, no crank. Anyone know what could be wrong? I checked all the fuses in the gauge cluster and they all seem to be fine. Are there any other fuses on the bike?

Check the main 30 amp fuse on the starter solenoid. I'm sure that it's blown.

Just what kind of a person hooks up jumpers backwards?? If you're that confused about polarity, move to San Francisco.

You might have melted the wiring harness and caused flagrant property damage and a dangerous fire killing dozens of innocent sleeping residents, including little children. Little children !!

If your neutral light won't work, post back here.

As justified penance for your electrical transgression, obtain the Honda service manual for your bike and read it daily and always b4 attempting any mechanical or electrical operation.
