Reunited

I discovered a local riders forum and my Interceptor project came up. I posted a link to my project here at the request of a member and there was a fair bit of interest.

Here was an interesting exchange:

So, as the evening passes I am more and more convinced that this "Maverick" is my long-lost riding buddy from over 20 years ago. I remember that he had "Maverick" written on his helmet. So I check the forum this am and:

Don't do it! This is an imposter who is planning on befriending you and then getting you drunk on shots of Jagermeister. Next thing you know you are waking up in the floor somewhere hungover in a daze holding a bill of sale for the Interceptor that you sold to your "old buddy" the night before for $10 and a 6 pack of LaBatt Blue LOL!! Seriously though, that is a cool story!

In speaking to him today I learned that he never sold that old RZ!! It has been sitting unused for decades. I told him that I was having wrench withdraw and that we should dig into it together. hehehe

 

Hanging around this forum for the past several months and seeing all the old bikes here made it surreal to see that old pic of mine when it was new (well, about 1 year old here). It sure was pretty. I wonder where it is now as I do with all my old bikes. Likely rusting in pieces in some yard somewhere...
