Been meaning to update my other threads: "Confession Time: this is what I did to my poor baby" & "Just a Different Carb Question '86 750"

Last you heard my baby looked like this:

Because I laid her down and did this:

Let's first clear up the "Just a Different Carb Question '86 750" post. I was waiting on new carb boots. Once I got those we had this::vtr2:

I got to ride her around for the first time in a year.

As for the other post: "Confession Time: this is what I did to my poor baby".
This is what I started off with but I didn't care for the yellow fairing that I bought used off E-Bay since it was an aftermarket thin piece of crap.

Then I lucked out last week and found a local guy selling these original fairings for $80.00:

The right side fairing had the nose piece missing.

So out came the cutting tool, Plastex and sanders.

At this point I have the headlight & side fairings ready for their first primer coat.

Work on the tail light fairing is still in progress and I have yet to buy the headlight fairing stickers and paint for everything.

I did buy some aftermarket exhaust since I scratched up the OE's.

I don't want to cut up my original collector pipes so I'm deciding which way to go with these. I went to the local junk yard but no luck. Might have to fab my own collector pipes. Any ideas?? Has anyone repaired scratches like these on the originals???

And that's my long :ass: update. More to come. :amen: and
