Hey everyone, Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with any of the local bike shops or dealerships in the San Antonio, TX area that are not outrageous on their labor charges. I called around to some of the local dealerships and its unbelievable what they are charging for labor these days. The one dealership I called is Alamo Cycle Plex. For a coolant flush, spark plugs and valve clearance check, brake fluid and clutch fluid flush, and to install new chain and sprockets they want around 900.00 including taxes, and thats just for labor as I already have all of the parts. I called a local bike shop and they said it would be roughly 600.00 total including taxes as long as the valves do not need shims. Is this the "norm" these days for labor costs? The one dealership I did talk to told me they are charging 89.50 an hour for labor. I guess I was just spoiled back up in Wisconsin with all of my mechanics, but still I cannot believe how much some of these dealerships are charging just for labor these days. If anyone has any suggestions or reputable mechanics that they trust with their bikes in the San Antonio, TX area I would greatly appreciate it.
