I'd love to see a 6 gen with the plastics actually installed. Tough to get a view of what it would look like with them laid out like that. What's with that shipping costs as well?

Hong Kong my friend! I do think that it would be interesting. I also wonder what kind of quality the plastics are. Are they as good as factory, or of lesser quality like Maier plastics? For around $800 shipped they are not a bad deal though.

For 800 bucks I think you could have a local shop do the same paint job and not have to send you money to Hong Kong. On the other hand, IF its good quality material AND a quality paint job, thats not a bad price. I'm guessing they made their own molds because it said you may have to drill your own holes and have a professional mount the panels. One of my friends had a local guy paint his 999 painted in Zerox colors. He paid about 800 to have it done and it was a full custom with the correct sticker kit.

I really like the look of the colours, and have recorded all the colour codes. Am going to slowly collect a complete second set of genuine plastics, then have my BIL do the painting for me. Just not sure what colours to paint the trunk and bags...

That would definately cause an issue! If you don't do something unique on them they tend to stand out. There is a custom 6th gen on Ebay right now that looks fantastic except that the trunk and bags just stand way out from the rest of the bike.

I saw the same auction and thought about it for a few. I love that Repsol orange. Did you notice the rear seat cowling says "800 RR". Haha, that's pretty cool.

Yep I saw that, pretty neat addition. There were some snipers on there waiting for that auction to end. No bids until real late.

I've seen those on there before. They come up once a month or so. The only down side is, if you do get them, you still have to have the gas tank painted to match. And don't forget the saddle bags. But would definately look really cool. Just a little too sporty/flashy for me.
