Has anyone tried any aftermarket headlamp bulbs? I have tried to order twice from my dealer and they can't seem to get the right ones. The pattern of the base that they got me is too small and will not fit at all. I think I'm going to try to get the OEM bulbs saturday. I really wanted either bright white or blue tinted bulbs...... Oh well.......Ok after I posted this I found the links to the other posts and I think I found my anwser. It appears that this bulb # is an A8? never did find that number on the internet.... OEM it is!

Save your money and get an aftermarket STANDARD H4, not the underpowered Honda-proprietary-base H4. The stock bulb is 45/45W.

    1. Buy a pair of Honda H4 adapter rings. They're on Ebay for $10.
    2. Buy a pair of H4 Sylvania Silverstars - DO NOT GET the 9003 equivilent - it should say H4 'For Motorcycle Use Only' on the package. Autozone.
    3. Without touching the bulb, bend back (or fatigue off) the two smaller tabs on the base, @ 5 and 8 oclock (large tab at 12oclock).
    4. Remove the old bulbs, insert the adapter rings, insert the new bulbs. Connect and ride. Amazing brightness from the Silverstars.

Now, if you're ever out somewhere on a trip and you burn out a bulb, you can buy a standard H4 anywhere and it'll fit.

Thanks Scott I may have to give that a try. I just took a trip to my Honda dealer and they had a OEM bulb in stock. I returned the other ones that wouldn't fit and bought the OEM. I may have to try the adapter rings on the next burned bulb.

I thought you didn't need to use the adapter rings. Or is that just in the U.S.?

I'm using standard H4s by themselves.

I bought some H4 silverstars and just cliped off the two little tabs on both sides and it fits quite well. No need for the adapter rings but they do provide a little better of a fit. All in all save the $10 on the adapter and buy better lights
