replacement forks for a 5th gen

I picked up a 5th gen VFR800 (2001) that had bin sitting for the last 3 years , did a valve set and some small work to get it going ,new tires and battery. Took it out for a spin and seamed all good . two days later the throttle locked open on me on the lake road right before a corner ... long story short i need new forks and am thinking of making a street-fighter of sorts , but ive bin looking around for replacement forks and i can only find used ones on eBay for around $400 . and I'd rather go with new , any idea as to where i can find them ?

 

I have a set of VTR forks, sans the rebound adjuster (They're now in my 5 Gen forks) that I would let go for much cheap! The rub is that you'd have to do a de-link on your braking system as these do not have the mounts for the SMC and if I am not mistaken, new calipers as well.

The other possibility is that you can use the stanchion tubes with the stock sliders BUT this could prove to be a false road. I had planned on doing this with my 5 Gen sliders but one slider was deformed inside and the slider would not move the full range and would get stuck. I had to find a set of forks to replace mine. Either way, they're here if you're interested. Perhaps you can check your sliders with the current stanchions and see if they move the full range.
