I am in the process of checking over my 1990 VFR 750 before I put it on the road and while removing the fairing pieces I have found a couple of the panels bolt mounting tabs are broken off.
So Before I attempt to repair these tabs I was wanting to know what others have used or done to repair these tabs and how well the repairs have lasted
    Thanks

If you want a cheap solid repair this is how to do it - I know several riders who have used this method successfully - the key ingredient is an electric soldering iron that is NOT too hot. Before messing with your fairing - get plenty of practice on an old plastic bucket, tray or something made with similar "flexible" plastic.

If you take your time, possibly adding some horns to build up strength around the lug and ideally add some wire re-inforcement you can make a repair which will outlast the bike. Have fun..

I'm actually doing exactly this on a fairing of mine at the moment.
I use Plastex to do this & it works excellently.

May even take a couple of pics to show the repair.

I have used the soldiering iron before but never reinforced it with the copper wire, very cool. Thanks.

I'm with Diving Pete, I used Plastex for my seat cowl and side fairing tabs and they've held up exceptionally well.
