repainting a 86 VFR700

    This is my project so far. The previous owner droped it on side shown. You can see road rash on muffler and crank case still. I repaired the broken fairing and painted a gunmetal color but now I'm thinking all FLAT BLACK. Has anyone ever seen a FLAT BLACK bike besides Batmans I mean? What are your thoughts? I have new GOLD VFR DECALS to go on next...just may change color first....photo is not great I know but would like feedback.....I think all Flat black with gold trim may look very cool and different.

    I think flat black COULD be nice if done right. I don't know how cleaning would go though. I vote flat black wit hthe gold decals.

    Nice... I beleive flat black can also be nice if done right.. Black and silver are cool i think too

    the black looks shite! but i've seen all red '86s that looked terrific.

    what brand primer / paint did you use? Did you read any articles on the proper tecnique on painting plastic?

    i am looking to paint mine this winter. any help would be great. thanks

    black looks good. gives it the stelth look. i would black out the blinkres and fastners as well. as far as decales i would allmost go with a dark gray or a dull black. gloss black decales might work too.
