I have an 85 Interceptor. The exhaust is pretty loud. If I repacked the exhaust, can I quiet it down?
I had an 85 VF1000F a number of years ago and I repacked the exhaust cans and it did quiet the bike down a bit but not a huge amount. My VF had aftermarket Cobra F1 slip-ons and the mufflers were easy to repack. After the repack, the bike had a slightly more smooth and basey note to the exhaust versus an almost tinny and somewhat harsh sound that it had before. Since the bike had aftermarket cans when I bought it, I'm not sure what it would be like to repack the stock exhaust.
