    hey all,

i have a 1984 VF700F. it's a california model, meaning it comes with two charcoal canister air filters connected to the front fairing stay... i'm re-working the front and moving to a fork mounted system for the headlight and gauges...

so, my question is, can i just remove them? i know the other bikes built for everyone else in other states don't even have them, and we don't have inspections for registering motorcycles here in CA (i'm assuming this was just a law applying to the manufacture of the motorcycle?)...

so... would that cause any problems? can anyone enlighten me on the system?

*update* i found an old thread that basically said "yes", no problem to remove them, just make sure all the hose ins/outs are cinched or clipped or otherwise made airtight... true?
