recent purchase, just joined vfrworld

hello, i bought a 2000 vfr800 about two months ago from a friend leaving the states. I was not ready for the weight, but as I got used to it, the bike has grown on me. Longest trip so far was around 250mi one-way, MA-NJ. Welcome. I also just recently got a fifth generation, a 2001 about a month ago. I too was worried about how the weight increase would feel, but in all truth after almost 2000 miles I'm not really noticing it at all except when I'm lugging it around the garage or getting it on the centerstand. It's a very well balanced bike.
