So I buy my used 2003 VFR800 last year. I call my local Honda dealer to see if there any recalls out. They say no. Ok that's great. Now my bike is doing things like the recall explains to fix. I call Honda of America and the VIN number doesn't jive. Funny, It didn't seem like a hot bike. SO then I am instructed to call Honda of Canada. SO I call them and at last they say there are 2 outstanding recalls that need to be done. So I call my local honda dealer who just last year said my VIN was not in any need of a recall. Wow, it only seemed that because their computer didn't tell them that it was a bad VIN but rather a VIN that didn't pop up, hence no need for a recall. So luckily Canada says I need it done. So I call a different Honda dealer here and they say there's no REcall for it. I tell them there is and that the freekin' bike nearly killed me in traffic due to it stalling. The service guy says to call back in 2 days so that he can see what he can do. GDam it Honda!!!! Or should I say Damn it Canadians. Get your computers to sync with one another. It's like it's a different manufacturer. I hope this gets resolved. I need to ride.
Sorry I just have to vent and I think you guys understand my frustration.

So where do you live, Steve, that you ended up with a Canadian bike?

im in florida, I heard that the previous owner was a tour bus driver for bands. That's all i know. It was on consignment at my local shop. I spoke with Honda of Canada again to see if they could contact my local dealer to tell them to fix my recall issues. I hope this gets taken care of!!!

What sort of issues did you experience with your bike, I am having some issues right now that seems to be pointing to the wiring harness recall.

I say damn it Americans - they should get their computers to sync with the Canadians'. The Canadian computers are already sync'd up together!

    Good luck with the fix.
