Can someone tell me why the slave cylinder rebuild kit that goes to 84 & 85 vf500 wont work on an 86? I have a clutch fluid leak that I cant pinpoint and everyone says to look into the slave cylinder. However they dont make a kit for an 86 unless i just cant find it. Any help is greatly appreciated

Looking at the parts online it appears that the 86 clutch slave assembly is the same as the 84-85:

    SKU: 22860-MF2-003
CYLINDER ASSY., CLUTCH SLAVE (Honda Motorcycle Code 1763390)

Based on that it appears that the 84-85 kit will work on the 86.

yea i noticed that as well. I was just worried because nobody lists that it will fit an 86. Also called a local Honda dealer and they flat out told me they dont make it anymore. And that they might have to call other dealers to see if they got one sitting on the shelf. I need to get it fixed because its getting much worse and its eating the paint away on my frame. Plus i heard doing the slave cylinder is super easy.

Can anyone give me a definite answer on why its not listed for an 86?

I just rebuilt mine about a year ago. All I ordered was the cup / seal and the gasket. That was it and the parts were available. The rebuild is easy. The only time consuming part of it is bleeding the clutch when you're done.
