Always wanted a VFR800 FI model. Found this one at a local insurance auction and decided to revive her with help from some forum members, e bay and my local Honda dealership. I've got about $2500 into her and she's almost done.

    $2000-2400 later

No, engine was fine except for the scraped engine cover. I replaced oil pan due to busted tab for fairing mount. I had both lowers and upper which were black painted metallic white again. The fuel tank was $50, mispelled on E Bay as VRF. Link sent to me by Tori, thanks for that. Bought new fork tubes 9dealer), fairing stay (daeler) oil cooler and rim with rotors off E bay.

Now that's a lot of work! "You can rebuild him, you have the technology"
You can call it "The 6 Million Dollar Bike"

I'm into her now total about $3400. Basically I am all done now, have to bleed brakes and hang lowers and she's ready to ride. Looking forward to it.

Still considering a new exhaust system though. I will add the Power Commander oxygen sensor plug regardless as I can tell she wants to run lean in the midrange.

Be careful on that wrecked rebuild. I would have a shop check alignments, frame , etc. just to be safe. You have done a nice job on it. Would hate to see you get hurt if something weird happens.

I had Dr Johns do the frame, trees and I bought new fork tubes. I would never had riden it w/o them checking it out. I've taken all my bikes there. They do the Yoshimura race team bikes and when they say it's straight, it's 100% straight. Thanks for the thought though. I cant' wait to ride her. Dr Johns is in So Cal if anyone needs wheel or frame straightening. Yuo know they get things right, all bolts line up and nothing needs to be bent or pulled to get it to line up.

How much $ do they get to straighten a frame? I have an 03 Honda ACE with a bent frame.

That is great that you have such an awesome resource for that. I wouldn't mind doing a project bike like that myself for a trackday bike or something.

Frame straightening runs anywhere from $250-500 depending on damage. I've seen Honda V twin cruisers in there before. It's cheaper to do if you take the bike apart. Leaving the frame, motor, rear wheel and swing arm attached so they can mount to the frame table and straighten.

Put Leo Vince exhausts on my 06. My friend just bought a new one off the dealership showroom, left over 2006. $7500 plus tax and lic. Then I went and bid on another 2006 ABS and won it. So deciding on parting or rebuilding.

My non ABS 06 is ALMOST done. I found out I had bent brake caliper bracket which is on national back order, so I bought in Japan via my friend. $35 cheaper but 2 week wait.

WOW ! That thing took a hit. I've got a couple leftover parts that i can see you will probrably need if you decided to rebuild her.

Im buying my last panel peice tonite off ebay to complete mine. Just put a SpeedoHealer on it last week too.

She's pretty much for the ride to Laguna Seca in July

Found fork tubes, looking for rim, then she can roll again. I've scheduled time at the frame doctor for this week.

OK, the first VFR non ABS bike is now complete. Spent about $2000 on her, used bodywork with white pearlescent paint.
