    Thought I would share this.....
I gutted the exhaust about 6 months ago, full gut, cut the caps removed baffles, but instead of welding the caps back on, I used a 1/4 x 1 1/2 stainless flat piece and pop riveted (Three per cap) one side to the cap and one the pipe and siliconed the tiny crack...and it holds well, no leaks...I packed the pipes with fiberglass pipe packing to "tune" the sound to what I want and I can just repack the pipes when I need to...like a 2 stroke kinda...sounds awesome and is fully functional. you can't see any of the rivets, I did three per cap...nice and rebuildable. Just thought it was cool and wanted to share...they have about 7k miles and no leaks...gonna repack them soon...:VFR1200F:
