I am questioning whether or not I correctly installed the rear wheel and axle onto the swingarm. I did not touch the bearings or dampers when I removed the wheel, and have all spacers, collars, etc. in the right place. Still, should the wheel be able to move side to side on the axle, before I install the torque bar for the rear brake and rest of the rear brake assembly? Is the brake assembly what keeps the rear wheel aligned with the front sprocket?

    Thanks,
    Lucas

You should have a 1" or so spacer on the chain side with no shoulder on it. On the brake side you have a short shoulder type spacer in the wheel and then the brake caliper bracket is the final spacer between the shouldered one and the swing arm.

No the wheel should NOT slide to either side after that. If it does, even a little there is something wrong.

Thanks. I got the spacers on the correct sides, forgot the caliper bracket serves as a spacer as well. Was in the process of reassembling brake set-up last night but did not get to this point! What a relief!
