    Hi guys,

Maybe you guys can help. The stock tire is 130/80-18. What's the largest size tire I can use without any rubbing? And what's the best upgrade mod if I were to install a larger rear wheel in order to fit wider tires?

    Regards,

    lorsban

    mark it 8, dude
im sure jamie or somebody will confirm the biggest size to fit.
seems like i remember guys using 150

as im sure you know, rubber in stock 16/18 setup is limited selection.

i had always used mostly dunlop for bias-ply on other older bikes,
but wasnt impressed by their newest bias products
so i went with avon road-riders on my 86-750 last time
if memory serves me, approx US$325 installed with a new chain also

Simple answer. If staying with stock rims not recommended to go any bigger than stock rubber. Profile changes too much and causes too quick of a drop in during cornering. The best upgrade of the wheel is largely accepted to be a CBR f2 90's rear and the same for the front forks and wheel. If doing one you should do the other IMOP. I have the f2 in back currently and a 2000 VFR set-up up front and both feel great. Rear should only be done though if you can find a way to fix the rear height lost to the 17 inch wheel like having a fox twin clicker shock (like on mine). If you use a f2 front you can still have speedo functionality. I unfortunately do not. Jamie may have an option for you if you do need a shock. He resprung mine and rebuilt the reservoir and it works great.

Bummer, I guess I'll just stick to stock rubber then. Been feeling a little big rear tire envy haha.

On my rear tire, I'm running a 140/70-18. It's a Bridgestone Battlax BT45. Depending on the tire brand, the stock sizes sometimes cannot be had.
