anyone know if a stock shock from a new cbr 600rr would fit on a 84 vf 700 the eyelets are look the same but i dont know if the is room for the resevre because it hangs straight out. or if there is anything else i can do i want to raise the rea hieght a little to give it a higher ride.:first:
Nope, not even close. Not only is the length way to short, but the lower clevis is not the correct size (too narrow). The reservoir also causes problems as you have already noted. I've got a couple of options to help you out. Check out my site for details. I'd suggest going with a modified VFR750 (94+) or VFR800 shock. I can incorporate more length for increased ride height if you like. I suggest +1" for street use, but it's really up to you. My personal bike is over +3" in the rear, which is about the limit for the linkage. It's made a big difference in the handling of the bike, that's for sure.
