What is the purpose of a rear set? What I mean is aftermarket adjustable ones, what are the gaines? Sorry if the question is stupid, but I was just wondering.
It can allow for more cornering clearance, as you can shift the pegs up and/or aft. It can also increase comfort level because of the adjustability. Be careful of the type that you buy, because there have been some that have had their rear sets break the frame when the bike falls over. Look for rear sets that have a built in brake switch, and folding pegs.

After seeing that I don't think it would be worth the 5-600 bucks to have the chance of that happining. Thanks guys.
But I wonder if that will be a problem with the 6th gen. Do you guys see anything wrong with these, any easy breaking points?
Personally I will never use rear sets that do not fold up like the OEM's do. When I first installed my after market sets I thought to myself I do not like how they don't fold up and may cause a problem like had.
Sato is a very good brand. A friend of mine had some Sato's on his RC-51 and absolutely loved them. But again it all depends on what you want your VFR to be, what you want to do with it, and the risks that you're willing to take.
Oh I am just aftermarket part junky I guess. Anything I can do, I want to do. Not really making the bike better for any one thing. I just want to improve the parts that are available to be changed out. I like the long ride, around town and maybe someday actually get on a track too. I am a tall guy (6' 3") and I was just wondering if this mod. is something that would help with the ride of the bike.
They're a decent brand. It depends on what you use your bike for. Those pegs look awfully narrow so if you're just street riding they could have the potential to be less comfortable in the end. I personally don't have any experience beyond the stock pegs, but I am 6'4 so I know how you feel. I don't mind the stock pegs since the shape is comfortable for my size 14 foot, however, the positioning could be improved some. No idea what kind of gain that sato set would actually give you. But I'd say, unless you ride aggressively or frequent the track then they might get tiring.
