Rear exhasut pipes question - 1984 VF500

I recently took off my exhaust system to get it ceramic coated. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention (a common problem) and did not notice that the 2 rear down pipes were not identical.
Although they are the same shape and size, when I got them back I noticed that one of them has a relief on the inside left of the pipe below the bend. I have looked in both the manual and the exploded part view and it does not indicate what side it is supposed to go on. I have trial fitted them, but it is not obvious which on goes where.
Can anyone tell me what side the pipe with the relief goes

Can't help you with your question, but I had my Vance and Hines headers ceramic coated and assumed the coating was hard as ceramics! They will scratch fairly easily, so be careful putting them on.

 

It is to clear one of the engine case bolts. Take a look and see if one sticks out a little further. I can prob verify which one later tonite.

 

As you sit on the bike the one with the relief goes on the right side. I spotted this when I was taking them off once and made sure I labelled them up.
