    Hi VFR's,

I have a 2008 Non ABS VFR. When I apply the rear brake I am getting squeaking as well as a rattle in the back. I am running 1yr old Galfer Wave rotors with EBC brake pads, Galfer SS brake lines. New brake oil and has been bled when all this was installed. The bike does not see too much road time as I am a weekend warrior.

This was not an issue until recently. Took it to my mechanic today who said "he had no clue." He thinks the rotor needs to be cleaned. Basically passed the buck back to me.

Anyways if anyone has suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help in advance.

Are the bolts that hold the rotor in place loose? How about all the bolts for the caliper including the pin holding the pads in place?

If you're positive that the noise and rattle is coming from the back, the other two suggestions would be in order. However, with the 6 Gen, the rear pedal only applies the center piston of the left front caliper and I have found that only using the rear pedal that you will sometimes get a lot of chatter and squealing but it's at the front. A light squeeze of the front lever and it engages the other two pistons in the front left caliper and chatter/squealing stops.
