Well I am new to the board and am close to buying a VFR. I looked at one yesturday weekend that I like but had a few concerns.

Its a 2000 with 11k miles. It runs perfectly, has new tires and the price is acceptable. My concern is that it has fallen over (zero speed) and some of the fairing parts are not perfectly aligned. For example the large side fairing piece on the left side (gear shift side)is sitting very close to the side frame while the spacing on the other side is perfect.

So my question is how difficult is it to realign fairing pieces? I really like the bike but want to make sure i can get her back to as perfect as possible.

can't remember on a 2000, but on the '04 it may be a simple matte of bending a bracket or two that the fairing screws into, or replacing the bracket. What you would want to be afraid of though is if the pieces don't line up because the frame is tweaked or the forks of anything like that. Might want to get it checked out by a local shop.

if teh frame is not bet it is just a matter of bending a few brackets or replacing them at very little cost or time.

There is two fairing stays that hold the fairing in place, then there is two screws on top and three on the side. Im thinking the two main brackets are bent, If so you can find both on ServiceHonda's website for less than 10 dollars for both... I think, unless they raised the price.
