Hey guys. I have been looking around for rearsets for my 2000 RC46 and so far found nothing. As this is not a sport bike, it would not surprise me if they don't exist. Does anyone know if there is another model that would be compatible? Maybe a similar era CBR or such.
Hi. User SEBSPEED at vfrdiscussion.com is at least in the process of making adapters which will make it possible to fit some newer CBR rearsets into a 5th gen VFR. Although there are a few that have been made, perhaps still but I wasn’t happy with the ones I was able to locate for my 01, $$$. I ended up using the first run of adapters that Sebspeed made that used CBR900/929 rearsets. The quality of his kit is real good but unfortunately, like rear sets for our bike, the 900/929 rear sets were also hard to find by any well known maker but “knock off” brands and Chinese made units were available. I found a decent set on eBay and ended up picking those up.
From what I have read, Seb is working on a version 2.0 of his rearset adapters for the RC46, I think he even indicated he would be releasing it soon? Check his page/comments on FB.
Yeah the new version is on its way and will use more modern and available rear sets. I’m happy with what I have but the next gen run he’s making should be easier to find current rear sets more easily.
