    Hi All,

I've got a 1999 VFR800Fi that was parked in my garage. I had some major rat issues at my home, but didn't know that they like motorcycles. Unfortunately, they liked some of the wiring on my bike. I can't get the bike running until I get the electrical fixed. I can do some minor mechanical & electrical work, but I'm not proficient at it or as knowledgeable about it. Also, I don't have the tools or resources to do any major work. I'm hoping you guys can help me out to provide a quick fix, so that I can hopefully ride it to a shop & have the professionals make the repairs. Basically, I need help to understand what wires were severely damaged & how to repair them. I've included a PDF file of the pics I took, along with commentary. For example, per the comment, I can't tell where & what the 3 green wires connector was connected to. If it’s too much for me to handle, I’ll just have to have my bike towed to the shop. Either way, I hope for some education. Thanks!

    Look in your airbox too!

    - Looks like they chewed thru the stator wires. I looked at all your pics. There is no real "temperary" fix for all this. Each section needs to be cut out and replaced or.. .a new harness is in order. - Its one of those "gotta be there" things, at least for me. The factory manual will be a must.

Find a buddy with trailer. - My guess is the dealer will want to do a harness changeout.

With some patient and skill I think this can be fix at home with tools
You will need manual (Diagrams) a buddy 5th gen would be plus for pictures of all the wires
Get all the wires need from electronic store and soder one at a time. I know it a pain but with low in $$$$ that what I would do.
Or hunt for the harness in salvage yard. I saw an ad. on craigslist selling engine and all the harness few weeks ago.
