If you're using the centrestand you won't be lifting much weight at all on the triple clamps . You can also cut a block to fit under the front exhaust. (or maybe the frame on your gen) just to be safe. The triples are strong enough to hang the whole bike from if you had to, just think of the forces they go through during hard braking.

I have a ratchet tie down that I use under the frame just behind the steering head. I attach the two ends of the tie down to hooks I have in the ceiling rafters in my garage, works like a champ.

Almost forgot, that's with using the center stand.

I have had luck with taking the bottom fairing off, using the center stand and then a car hydraulic jack and a block of wood on the exhaust I lift it enough to get the rear wheel back on the ground.

I just picked up an ABBA jack works great. Blue streak racing, just north of Woodstock.

I have used a forklift many times to do that. Better if you can get a strap around the neck, but the clamp will work if you can't. Most bikes come in the crate with the front wheel removed, so that's the only way to lift the front end to install it. Did hundreds like that including my own with no ill effects.
