I wanted to flush the radiator/fluid in my '97 VFR last weekend but quickly realized that there is no drain plug (that I could find). The Owner's Manual says to 'have a qualified mechanic' do the job. Other than pulling off hoses, is there an easy way to drain the radiator fluid?

I would check for a small bolt on the bottom side of the water pump housing. All of the water cooled street bikes I have owned had a drain plug in this location.

    AS stated......

bottom of waterpump, 10mm head, small copper washer underneath.

It's good to let a garden hose run for a few minutes through the filler cap opening.

no.................................................................:rolleyes::rolleyes: you need to flush it with distilled water not to corrode the inside of engine..then run at least 50-50 mix with distilled water the expensive stuff (radiator fluid)is better and can last up 100k miles also may want to consider running a flush kit additive half only let bike run a few minutes and then drain...good luck...I'm not even gonna comment....

    OH, god, again???

Corrosion takes time, and a 10 minute flush with tap water won't hurt anything !
