Sup fellas? Ok, so i got my hands on a couple of R1 leo vinci slip on cans. All i have is the cans. Not the whole kit with the pipe linkage parts included. How much of a headach will it be to try and fit them to my vfr800 vtech? Does it worth giving it a shot to begin with? Thnx in advance Elad
I have seen a few exhaust cans made for other bikes used on VFRs and other bikes not meant for them. The hard part will be getting the link pipe part made for you. If you can find a good muffler shop you can probably have them fabricate the "mid-pipe" for you. Time and money is really the only hurdle.
Thnx bro There is a pretty good muffler shop down here. Any ideas on where to get the proper measurments from? Bend angles, diameters etc.
The rub is that without a "template" mid-pipe to go off of, they'll need to fabricate it for you. Since you have the cans and the bike, they can get the measurements off of each and do the fabrications with your bike. That is actually the only saving grace here, that you have the bits and pieces that they can use to make up the components you need. It might be pricey, depending on the material they use and the amount of R&D they'll need to do. Although it might be possible to use the existing OEM mid-pipe and have them adapt the cans to work on that. That actually would be the way to go, but it would also mean that you would lose the original exhaust to return to later if you didn't like what you ended up with.
