I was reading somewhere else about a procedure to tap into the green ground wire coming out of the R/R and ground it to a place on the frame close to the R/R. Reason is giving the R/R a faster/better/more efficient grounding point.

The picture that was posted had what looked to be about a 6 inch wire spliced in using one of those "clamp" type wire taps that bascially makes a "T". The pigtail coming off of the existing RR ground wire is then connected to one of the bolts that mounts the RR to the frame.

Would this be worth doing do you suppose?

    R/R grounding

On my '97 I ran a 10 gauge wire strait to the frame ground point on the right side. This, among other things I did, have resulted in trouble free riding for over 2 years now.

    Hell, yes !

That is good. Look at the r/r from an '87 CBR600, which has that extra wire grounded to frame nearby. Problem with the VFR is that it runs too many components to ground through one small wire.

Any idea what gauge wire that is coming out of the r/r? I'll do this, it can't hurt, just want to get the right size wiretap.

Arent those T type wire taps sized for the wire you're tapping into? I wouldn't want to get one for a 10g wire and have the wire coming out of the R/R being a 16g wire...
