Since I was last on here. Didn't have net access for a while & then I just couldn't be bothered in attempting to catch up with all the unread threads.

This likely won't be news to the Aussies here that are on OZVFR.

I was riding home from work when I had a argument with a car back in March. I was in a bus lane (Yes, I was legal) & was coming up to car that was in the lane on my right. His left indicator was on, but we were very close to a intersection so I thought he was going to move into my lane & make his turn after the intersection. Nope, he was turning left at the intersection & I had nowhere to go except into his left front quarter. I ended up in hospital for 2 nights. Nothing broken, just various bruises & a very sore right shoulder. Been getting physio for the shoulder, but it's still not 100%. Had to see another doctor a few weeks back, appointment had been arranged by my lawyers. Didn't understand much of what he said, one thing that I did catch was that I think that he may recommend that I go for an MRI.

Bike doesn't look too healthy. Front forks took a decent hit, much harder that when I wrote off my 4th Gen back in late '04. I'm not insured either which isn't helping matters. But at least the police report found that the other driver was at fault.

Sorry to hear. But, a car with a signal coming up to an intersection and you thought he was going to turn after the intersection? really?

Over here motorcycles are allowed to use bus lanes. (Typically the left hand lane) If a car is turning left they are only allowed to be in the bus lane for 100 metres before they turn. Police report found he was at fault, & I received a letter from my lawyers last week saying that his insurer has finally accepted that he is at fault.

There are now 3 pics of how my bike now looks in my gallery here.

    Finally....

Received quite a few phone calls from my lawyers this week, the end result is that the insurance company for the other driver is going to settle this coming Wednesday.

    :cheer2:

So now I'm wondering which VFR to buy...

Wow, so this has dragged on for over a year?! The insurance company should be thankful that you weren't seriously injured. As far as which Gen VFR, I don't think you can lose. You had a 4th and 5th Gen already, so you know what those are like. I had a 5th and moved to a 6th back in 2007 and I really like it. What about a 7th?

I agree with Stewart. Fartoo long to wait for a settlement. But I don't know what the court system is like down there so what you waited could be the norm. As far as what bike you get, that is a personal choice I suppose. But regardless of what you get, buy some proper insurance. I don't kow what your persona; life is all about, but for arguement lets say you have a wife and two small kids, and a home with a mortgage. You have another collision that puts you out of commission fro some time, if not dissables you so that you cannot work. What then?

We all think we are invincible. More likely truth is, we dodge the bullit far more than we realize.

Let us know what you get and stay safe.

Received a cheque the other day for a nice amount of $.

Currently thinking to go for a barely used 6th Gen, money saved from the brand new price can go towards an aftermarket shock.

Way too long since I've heard that V4 exhaust note...

You can have mine really cheap but you gotta come and get it in person. Can't truthfully say it is barely used though.
