    Hi guys,

I was speaking to the powercommander dude and he said I should check if I actually have an o2 sensor. He said that I may not have one?

    I have a 2001 VFR.

Anyone know if this has the o2 sensor?

yeah it should .its fuel injected....... you can tell by looking at the exhaust you will have two plugs (one on each collector after it goes from 4-2....)

I had a look yesterday and there are 2 plugs going into the exhaust.

Does this mean I have 2 x o2 sensors? Or are they linked?

It means you have 2 ,,,,one on each side
what I meant was not that all fuel injected bikes have 02 sensors...it is an emissions deal...sorry to mis lead all "california bikes have then.If they are new enough

then make your own o2 eliminators. 330 ohm resistors. there are plenty of threads on here pertaining to it...

    I just picked up 2 x 330K 5% 1W carb resistor.

MCAS do them for $90+ for 2

UK do them for approx 50+delivery.. (and long wait :))

I have the thread bookmarked so wish me luck.

    The resistor set was 45c

    Hi everyone,

I installed the power commander last night. I used the "laser duotech exhaost with O2 sensors" map as it was the only non stock exhaust map with O2 sensors..

Installing the powercommander was relatively straight forward:

    - there was no way I was getting the plugs behind my frame as there was no room. I threaded it up as best I could..

I have only had a short ride but accelleration fron 1500-4000 is heaps better. Less jerky and much easier to ride at slower speeds.

It is less lumpy and seems to be much more powerful.

I used to change out of first and second quickly as it seemed to be labouring and sounded shit.

Now I have a real first and second gear.

O2 eliminators came with the power commander..

Anyone know why I would manually adjust it? Does anyone actually do this?

I was thinking I'd like a performance map and a city map so I can change between them..

Does anyone with a power commander adjust them at all once they are setup?

Some of us mess with the map but usually only when you know what you are doing. If you want a good map, then take your bike somewhere to have it dyno'd and tuned. They create a map specifically for your bike and it doesn't get any better than that.

Would there be any benefit in having a separate street and track map?

One for economy and one for performance?

most certainly. many of us do this. i have one for each. the zero map for the power commander seems to give me some of the best mileage but i also have one that was tuned which gives me more power for when i'm out having fun

Yep a piece of. I didn't need to do it in the end but very straight forward (once you find the o2 eliminator plugs behind the coolant reservior)

Too many new enhancements for my bike and now its out of the budget (for now).

Yeah it adds up. Doing the stay upright course in Dec. Should be well worth it.
