No repairs, just got some of them new super sticky michelin pilot road 2's, and need to retorque everything back on. hopefully they last more than 8,000 miles like the original tires did. I do think they are really sticky, my rear tire never moved around the bed of my truck during it's 50 mile trip home:ballchain:

Off the top of my head - I think the rear wheel lug nuts = 83 ft-lbs, 14 on calipers bolts seems a bit shy.

    - A Q for everybody - my '98 manual says 52 ft-lbs on the axle bearing pinch bolt. I felt that was too much so I checked an old 4th gen manual for comparison and it say 40 ft-lbs. What the 6th gen manual say?

    - BTW on the 5th, I almost went to torque spec and felt it was near stripping so I backed it off.

On mine, I usually just go to PFT then recheck it after a the first couple rides. I have a torque wrench, but I think I've only actually used it once on the pincher. I use it on the smaller stuff that I'm afraid of breakin...

IMhumbleO....83 can't be right for those rear wheel bolts either..that's gotta be too much??

just totally guessing (don't have manual), based upon size, i'd GUESS that about 40-45ft-lbs would be ok.

anyone who actually knows please respond!

I do the same thing reg...if PFT is what I think you mean...same with car lug nuts. Big lugs I use the PFT method. Never had a problem.

FYI... you can get a good enough for most stuff torque wrench for less than $20 from places like harbor frieght. sSeems like a good thing for your Christmas List. if you don't have one yet.

you know I actually have a torque wrench now. I have just been doing it without for so long, I just don't usually think of it unless it's something that I think needs to be precise.
