Ok, what's going on here? Anyone recognize these needles?

The one on the left came out of a 1996 carb rack, which also has #124 main jets installed along with the stock #40S slows.

The needle/diaphragm on the right came out of a second 1996 carb rack, which has what is believed to be the stock #125 main jets, and #40S slow jets.

Anyone got ideas on what brand the needle on the left is, and why someone would install smaller jets?

    Thanks!

The one on the left is Dynojet and the one on the right is stock. As far as jetting, you never know what to expect after it has been dicked with, I have found jets twenty sizes over stock installed before so you never know.

Thanks, do you know if anything had to be drilled out with the Dynojet kit for the 4th gen?

I know I had to do some drilling on my '85 700F when I did the Dynojet kit way back when. Just curious to know if I can easily toss those Dyno needles or not. I'm returning that particular bike to stock...

If there's an additional hole or if the stock hole is enlarged you can fill with JBWeld and re-drill to stock size.....

Change back to stock main jet too, as Dynojet sizes may not correspond to factory numbers.

I just found the same exact setup on my 94,

I was going to buy new mains - should I get 125's or stick with the 124's............If I get new 124's do I get them from Dynojet?

    Thanks

Here is a link that may help out-
